Printworks The New Yorker Chess – to celebrate The New Yorker’s 100th anniversary, the brand partnered with the iconic magazine to create a reimagined chess set that captures the true spirit of New York City. This special edition transforms the city’s famous symbols into chess pieces — the Statue of Liberty as the Queen, flying pigeons as Knights, and the hustle of yellow taxis as Pawns. Each piece represents a part of New York’s unique character, creating a playful yet sophisticated tribute to the city that never sleeps. The chess set is illustrated by Christoph Niemann, a long-time contributor and illustrator for The New Yorker.
